2009 League Series Thread

Tonight begins the LCS.

Cole Hamels vs. Clayton Kershaw. Tomorrow is the start of the Yanks-Angels.

What say you?

I think both series should be entertaining.

L.A. takes an early lead on a James Loney line drive solo homer over the right field wall.

I am too just to be ornery. You know they want a coast to coast with the largest markets playing in the WS. The seasons are pretty much rigged and stacked that way every year anyway.

For me its more of an vote against the evil empire or a Philly repeat. I like Philly's players, but they just won, so spread it around.

Philadelphia leads 5-4 in the 6th inning. Dodgers have bases loaded with 2 outs and the top of the order up.

Does it seem to anyone else that the relief pitchers have gained 3-4 MPH in the post season? Park was throwing 96.

The guns are juiced on TBS. They've had many different pitchers throwing 98. Heck, I think Jamie Moyer could hit 95 with their guns.

Pitch f/x has everyone's velocity way up there, too, which leads me to believe that LA happens to have one of the faster stadium systems. They may even be using pitch f/x instead of a gun on the broadcast. Once the series moves to Philly, I'll take a look to see if pitch f/x still matches the slow/fast tendencies of whatever the broadcast is showing, although it's certainly possible that both are fast systems AND they're using a juiced gun for the broadcast.

BTW, it's really weird watching Pedro the Philly strike out Manny the Dodger. What's a Reds fan similar moment?

I don't care if Tex's foot was 2 inches off the bag, that was a heller of a play by Sabathia and Tex. Ring him UP!
