I don't like this one bit. Jay, you still hit .220 this year.

You're opening yourself up for criticism. You're not doing everything you can to get better IMO. As his biggest fan I'm disappointed.

Re: Bruce says no to Winter Ball after recent hot streak

I can't count how many different reason why this is wrong. It should not be Bruce's choice. He needs so much work. He only played in 103 games this season...child's play.

I hope we don't have another Adam Dunn on our hands here, someone refusing to work on his game for the betterment of the team and instead just wants to hit the longball. At least Dunn usually had a high OBP. Bruce's is a putrid .138 in July, .292 in June, .276 in May, and a so-so .338 in April. 45 Plate Appearances in Sep/Oct (25% K-rate) does not a problem solve. Learn to do it for 450 Plate Appearance Bruce before you go announcing yourself "Perfect".

Already a prima-donna, and only 22 years old.

Encarnacion had a .359 OBP / .831 OPS in 2006, .356 OBP / .794 OPS in 2007, and .340 OBP / .807 OPS / 26HR season in 2008. Problem solved, right? Absolutely not! He ends up with a .315 OBP in 2009.

Bruce needs a lot of work. He's so loaded with talent. He'll be good, but he could be better.

I agree. Bruce is a young guy that needs lots of AB's for it to finally click, and missing a big chunk of this season didn't help. Get your butt out there and play some ball this winter.

It doesn't even need to be that much, but I too wish he would go out for a little, at least the beginning. Do what you did after returning from the DL for a month of winter ball, and I'd be happy.

He needs winter ball after that 2 month injury rest. Fatigue through next year should not be a problem at his age.
