I will take Devin Mesoraco. Peripherals look good. Defense got incredibly better during the season (threw out 48% of base runners from Mid May until the end of the year).

I'll keep taking Dorn until he wins a vote or goes in Rule V, whichever comes first.

Re: Who is Redszone's #15 prospect?
Veering from the crowd and going with Matt Fairel here. Like Sulbaran, he was drafted late but paid enough to get him in the fold. Unlike Sulbaran, he got no hype from the WBC but also unlike Sulbaran he actually had a good season. Fairel is a 6-3, 210 pound lefty. His control is not bad and his K Rate was good in low A. His K-Rate did drop in his 50 Innings at high A, but he still put up a reasonable line. A half season at High A while finishing in AA in 2010 and Fairel will be within distance of making his big league debut at some point in 2011. With Harang and Arroyo probably gone by then and who knows how Volquez comes back or Bailey, Cueto or Maloney end-up by then and I'm guessing there will be opportunity in Cincy by then.

I went with Mesoraco, but I'm leaning toward Serrano. Serrano had an amazing college season and dominated in the Reds system. He's one of my big sleeper picks for next year.

Re: Who is Redszone's #15 prospect?
Of the experienced guys, Jordan Smith should be highest rated. Doesn't walk guys, allows few long balls, excellent WHIP consistently. Needs a few more strikeouts. Highly rated by BA. High draft choice, still young and at AA. Reds added him to the forty.
But since he missed quite a bit of time with injury last year, I'll wait on Smith and go with one of the very young talents. I can't judge between Silva and Duran. I like Silva's 7 triples last year in limited at bats. I think he had 9 doubles and 7 triples. Shows me speed and power. Duran is more highly touted. Not sure whether to go with Duran or Silva. I'll read the debate and vote for one or the other. |

I went with Dorn for #14 and I went with him again now.

Sulbaran. I like his potential a lot, even if he hit a bit of a roadblock last year.

My highest rated guys left are Matt Fairel, Danny Dorn, Logan Ondrusek, Devin Mesoraco, JC Sulbaran and Jeremy Horst. If Smith was healthy for sure, I'd have him ahead of them all and also ahead of many already gone. He'd probably be about number 8 behind Alonso, Leake, Frazier, Heisey, Francisco, Y-Rod and Cozart.

For me I'd probably vote Silva here but since he's not in the running I'll go with Dorn.

Last years number 9 is available at the 15 spot? I'll buy the discount... Juan Duran.

Re: Who is Redszone's #15 prospect?
Sulbaran should be in the top 15. He already knows how to pitch, he just needs more innings to build strength and consistency.

Re: Who is Redszone's #15 prospect?
Based on what does he know how to pitch? The guy struggled to throw strikes in Dayton and was as inconsistent as they come while giving up HR's like he was Eric Milton.
