Re: 2010 Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball - 5th edition
Who is Kentucky rumored to get, WMR? Thus far, they're recruit(s) are underwhelming (though I do like Poole as a four-year solid everyday player), and they seem to be second choice of a ton of great recruits. Who's changed their minds?

Brandon Knight would not exactly suck.

Brandon Knight, Enes Kanter, and Terrence Jones would be MY prediction of who they add in addition to Poole. That would be a sick, sick class. Perfect for DDMO.

Other possibilities are Doron Lamb, C.J. Leslie, and Josh Selby.

Re: 2010 Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball - 5th edition
I think we land :
Stacy Poole Brandon Knight or Josh Selby..... both won't sign IMO Terrence Jones or CJ Leslie And I think we pick up Enes Kanter. Knight/Selby Bledsoe Dodson Liggins Miller Hood Poole Jones/Leslie Harrelson Kanter Orton That's a pretty good roster. Knight/Bledsoe/Dodson/Jones/Orton would be a great lineup IMO. |

Re: 2010 Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball - 5th edition
My dream scenario would be:
2010 defections: John Wall, Patrick Patterson, DeMarcus Cousins, Ramon Harris, Perry Stevenson, and Mark Krebs. 2010 additions: PG-Brandon Knight SG-Doron Lamb SF-Stacey Poole PF-Terrence Jones or CJ Leslie (whoever commits first) C-Enes Kanter Our 2010/2011 roster: PG-Eric Bledsoe(So)/Brandon Knight(Fr) SG-Brandon Knight(Fr)/Doron Lamb(Fr)/Darnell Dodson(Jr) SF-Darius Miller(Jr)/Jon Hood(So)/Stacey Poole(Fr)/DeAndre Liggins(Jr) PF-Terrence Jones (Fr), Josh Harrellson (Sr) C-Daniel Orton(So), Enes Kanter(Fr) 2011 defections: Josh Harrellson, Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight 2011 recruiting class: PG-Marquis Teague SF-Michael Gilchrist PF-Quincy Miller 2011/2012 lineup: PG-Marquis Teague(Fr)/Doron Lamb(So)/DeAndre Liggins(Sr)* SG-Doron Lamb(So)/Jon Hood(Jr)/Darnell Dodson(Sr) SF-Michael Gilchrist(Fr)/Darius Miller(Sr)/Stacey Poole(So) PF-Terrence Jones(So)/Quincy Miller(Fr) C-Daniel Orton(Jr)/Enes Kanter(So) * I am really hoping Liggins becomes the Antonio Anderson for this team. A 6'6 wing player who can also serve as a third PG while on the floor.

Re: 2010 Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball - 5th edition
I don't think Hood/Poole will be ready to help the team like we will want them to next year. I think Dodson/Liggins will get the minutes over them.
Also, I've noticed we won't have a ton of bigs to use. With our style, do you think we could get away with playing guys like Miller + Dodson or any variation of our long SFs together? |

Jones, Kanter, and Orton would rotate similar to Cousins, Patterson, and Orton this year.

Re: 2010 Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball - 5th edition
My thoughts on a couple of your lineups is Eric Bledsoe. I like the kid and he has a world of talent "but" I basically havent been impressed at any time this year with his point guard play. He plays entirely too out of control for me. Drives into traffic way too much and seems to fall down, throw it away, charge etc. So my choice would be for a guy like Knight to run the point and Bledsoe compliment him the same way he has Wall this season.

Re: 2010 Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball - 5th edition
Bledsoe is young and extremely likely to improve as he has the ball in his hands. As he matures, the silly turnovers will drop (though, because of Calipari's style, they'll still be considered high to those who know something about basketball).
Not only shouldn't you judge Bledsoe on his freshman year, you also can't assume Knight (if they get him-- there are reports out now that insist he's staying in-state to play and that all this flirting with UK is simply his way of ensuring Kentucky won't get another PG) can pull a John Wall and dominate. Freshman PGs aren't usually a good idea; in fact, I can't think of a team that had one and won the National Championship. (That said, John Wall can absolutely be the first-- he's that good.) On another note, WMR, I've heard all those names, but none of them list Kentucky any higher than other programs. What makes you think Calipari and the Cats will land them?

Just stopping by to say:
BK EK CJL SP ?? Will be next year's class. Not sure on who the ?? is yet, was thinking DL but am leaning more toward TJ with the more I hear. Either way, it's going to be great next year.... reloading, the way it used to be! |

I don't think Cal/UK get both Leslie and Jones. Jones has the edge in terms of polish whereas Leslie gets the nod in athleticism. I prefer Jones, and I think UK does too. Either would be an awesome addition, however. |
