Jermaine Dye retiring

I saw on ORG that he was talking of retiring he would be worth 2-3 mil for one and another Big righty bat for leftfield.

Hmmm. Interesting. I'm in the group that wants to go with the young guys. But if we could get Dye cheap, I'd have to consider it. Retiring? I don't believe it.

Re: Jermaine Dye retiring

I was all for letting the young guys battle for LF in spring training, but if we could get Dye for 3-4 million, then I'm on board.

Why should I read something where I am not welcome and I cant respond? I never go over there and read anything.

As far as Dye is concerned, he had a terrible second half:

Avg OBP Slg OPS
.179 .293 .297 .590

Those numbers are just brutal. Stay with the young guys rather than throw a few million dollars at those potential numbers.

I found this article that does a very thorough explanation why Dye might be considering retirement.

5 Reasons
