Do I take my kids to the Alice in Worderland 3D movie?

You make the call. Highest vote total calls it.

My girlfriend is going to take her 11 year old daughter to it. She wasn't sure if she would have if it were rated PG-13.

Both kids are 13 and over. Age is no problem.

This movie looks extremely creepy to me.

We will probably see it on Friday and discuss it on my Disney podcast released Sunday. I can probably give you a better idea Saturday. (Not sure when you were planning on going.)

Since it is Disney, Tim Burton and rated PG, I believe it will probably be close to the same as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory content wise, so I see no problem with it.

Not if your kid is 6 or under as far as the "scare factor" is concerned.

If it's PG, then you have to weigh it against your child's scare meter.

Not if your kid is 12 or under if it's PG-13. There's a reason something is ranked PG-13.

There's enough hellish things in life than for one's parents to subject their kids to things before they have to. Life and all of it's tragedies will come their way soon enough.

Re: Do I take my kids to the Alice in Worderland 3D movie?

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory remake was horrible, so I'd vote no just because it's likely to suck. It actually pains me to say it because it wasn't always true, but Burton is now more than a little overrated.

And drop a hit of acid for yourself!

When I heard this movie was coming out, I said to myself, "I'll bet anything Jonny Depp is in that". I'm sure I wasn't the only one.

Re: Do I take my kids to the Alice in Worderland 3D movie?

What are your other options?

If it's either AiW3D or sit at home and stare at the walls, then I guess you go to the movie.

(Unless you've got really interesting walls...)

But if it's AiW3D or spend a couple hours hiking, biking, going to a museum, volunteering in the community, etc., then that's a different choice.

You're not referring to the 1976 version, are you?

You can tell them after the movie all about Tim Burtons heroin habit and how he and his wife live next door to each other with a tunnel that connects their houses so he can play vampire and visit them without seeing the sun.
