Gaylord Perry pitched a complete-game four-hitter with 7 K's to get the win for the Giants, and also drove in the game-winning run in the ninth inning on a groundout. The only hits for the Reds were a leadoff single by Tommy Helms in the fourth inning, a two-out single by Tony Perez in the fourth, a two-out solo homer by Bernie Carbo in the seventh, and a one-out single by Perez in the ninth.
