Marshall (1-1) LP: Clay Carroll (1-1) HR: CIN - Tony Perez (1). LA - Ron Cey (2), Jimmy Wynn (4). In the top of the second inning, Reds manager Sparky Anderson sent Dan Driessen to the plate to pinch-hit for 3B John Vukovich. Nothing was physically wrong with Vukovich--Sparky just felt that he needed more offense in that situation. Vukovich was noticably upset about the decision. Dodgers starter and former Giants great Juan Marichal made his final appearance in this game.
