Predict the Bengals draft 2010

I know we all have our favorites and I presume so does the team. How accurately can you predict what the Bengals will do with each selection? I posted this on a Bengals board and figured it might be a good exercise here as well.

1 point for any correct player drafted regardless of where he is drafted
1 point for correct position drafted in any slot
1 point for correct player drafted in any slot
2 points for correctly predicting a trade of any picks
3 points for correctly predicting to what team and for what pick(s) or player we trade for
10 points for correctly predicting the entire draft

So for example if you guess Taylor Mays with the 21st pick you'll get 1 point for predicting drafting Mays, 1 point for guessing a Safety with that pick and 1 point for nailing the player with the correct pick. If you guess Mays with the 21st pick and they trade down to pick 25 and then take him you still get 1 point for guessing Mays selection but no other points since you selected him 21st. If you correctly predict that trade you'll get all 3 points and an additional 2 points for correctly predicting a trade, plus 3 more for predicting the right team and pick. If you predict Mays with the 21st pick but they select Earl Thomas you will still get 1 point for correctly predicting the Safety position being addressed with that pick at that spot.

1st Rd. - select TE Jermaine Gresham OU with the 21st pick
2nd Rd. - select S Reshad Jones UGA. with the 54th pick
3rd Rd. - select WR Carlton Mitchell USF with the 84th pick
3rd Rd. - select OG Ciron Black LSU with the 96th pick
4th Rd. - select CB Donovan Warren Michigan with the 120th pick
4th Rd. - select DT Jeff Owens UGA with the 131st pick
5th Rd. - select RB LeGarrette Blount Oregon with the 152nd pick
6th Rd. - select K Leigh Tiffin Alabama with the 191st pick
7th Rd. - select QB Daryll Clark PSU with the 228th pick

If someone correctly predicts the entire draft, I'll give him free tickets to the Super Bowl.

I'm in. I'll give you my picks on Wednesday or Thursday morning.

Not a single Linebacker, yet, by anyone in any round.

I hope this thread is right, as far as Gilyard goes.

I'm more anxious to see if the Bengals can get Mardy in the second round than I am about anyone they get in the first round. I'd really like to see him in orange and black this year!

IMO, he is the perfect receiver pick, but for different reasons.

I'm not a UC fan, but I was extremely impressed with the way he carried himself representing the team when BK left for Notre Dame. I believe he really loves the city and people of Cincinnati and would be a great ambassador for the program.

Mardy Gilyard said that Palmer compared him to TJ and that of all ther recievers that visited the Bengals he was the only one Palmer personally threw to.

I don't really see the TJ comparisons. Maybe it is just me, but Mardy was more of a big play reciever than third down guy at UC. TJ was a very good possesion reciever especially over the middle. It takes a tough gritty player to do what TJ does. I'm not sure Mardy is in that mold. I love Mardy and I think he can really help any team, but I don't think TJ is a good comparison. I don't know why Palmer would say that if it is in fact what he actually said.

Having said that, I'd love to see Mardy with the Bengals next year. The fact that he loves Cincinnati is just icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned. It'd be great to have him close to the UC program. That is however a completely homer point of view. Mardy is one of the greatest stories and best personalities to come from the UC Football team. No matter how many times you hear his story, I never get tired of it. Hopefully it keeps him grounded throughout his career.

Re: Predict the Bengals draft 2010

Mardy profiles as a slot receiver in the NFL. One that gets under and grabs the YAC. I can see how they comp.
