Lena Horne, Singer and Actress, Dies at 92
I always thought she was one beautiful and talented lady.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/10/ar...ne.html?src=me Ms. Horne might have become a major movie star, but she was born 50 years too early, and languished at MGM in the 1940s because of the color of her skin. ![]() Her signature - Stormy Weather

I'm not kidding, Fred Sanford was the first person who came to my mind when I read her name in the headlines this morning. He had it bad, didn't he?

That Sanford episode was the first thing that came to my mind too. Of course I'm a big Sanford & Son fan, and have the series on DVD. Classic episode.

Nice op-ed column in yesterday's Washington Post about Horne and her bridging the gap in a segregated world.
