Make your prediction: Who will the Reds draft with the 12th overall pick?
The 2010 MLB Draft is just two days away and the rumors are heating up. I thought it would be fun for everyone to predict who the Reds will draft. This isn't who you want the Reds to draft but who you think they will draft.
My prediction: Deck McGuire, RHP, Georgia Tech

I want to add that of all the drafts I think this one I have the least guesses about. In previous years we kinda had an idea of maybe 3 or 4 guys the reds could draft but this year it seems like there is a dozen of possibilities. |

If it were up to me, it would come down to Brentz, Castellanos or Grandal. If the reported money demands for Grandal are true, he's probably out of the mix. I would be more than happy with either Castellanos or Brentz. So in the end, I say they will pick:

Any chance we draft someone like Grandal [with his high bonus demands] and essentially punt the pick this year? Obviously we'd get the #12 pick again next year as a make up, so part of me could see it happening and almost calling Chapman our 2010 #1 pick.

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance. |
