Chapman's bouncing back nicely from a terrible start. Highest gun reading I've heard is 95, throwing lots of off-speed stuff

The Reds obviously think highly of Jacob Johnson, the 19-year-old righthander they placed this year at Dayton, ahead of Tyler Cline and Daniel Tuttle. Johnson has struggled most of the season, but they've stuck with him and his results are on the uptick. Tonight he went five scoreless innings (2 hits, 1 BB, 1 K) as the Dragons won the first game of a doubleheader, 10-0. Cameron Satterwhite was 3 for 5 with a HR. He's now hitting .375.

Chapman racking up K's tonight. Even more impressive is that it sounds like he's pitching without his best fastball tonight.

Code:
Player IP	H	R	ER	BB	SO	HR	ERA
Chapman 5.0	4	1	1	2	9	0	4.22
He walked in the run

Control is still dicey. His best FB was 98

Back in a rain delay with two men on for the Bats

It looks like this game is not going to be completed tonight.

Chapman did something I saw his last start. When Castillo threw the ball back to him after a pitch, he caught it with his bare hand. Power immediately went out this time. A sure sign of trouble in Chapman. He just needs some maturity. Much like Homer.

Volquez turned it over to Jordan Hotchkiss, who went five shutout innings--2 hits, 0 walks, 8 strikeouts--in a 6-0 win. Hotchkiss' ERA is 1.57. Nick Christiani finished it off. Neftali Soto had 2 hits and 3 RBIs, with a HR.

Nevermind, someone listed Chapman stats much better than I did.

Still a nice comeback start for Chapman. Still has a good amount of refining to do but I think most everyone realizes that.

It was after he walked in the run. And after staring down the umpire.

Mesoraco wins it for Carolina with a walkoff HR in the 11th. He was 3 for 5. Sappelt was 3 for 4, raising his average to .350. Shutout relief over five innings by Tabor, Valiquette, Jordan Smith and Horst.

The DSL Reds won 5-0. Felix Perez had two hits, including a 3-run HR. He's hitting .395. Radhames Quezada, 19, went the full nine innings, throwing a 4-hitter with 0 BB and 6 K.

It was the best night in a long time for the Reds' teams, winning 5 of 6 with three shutouts.
