Homer Bailey Shut Down

http://news.cincinnati.com/comments/...ation-shutdown

Quote:
Bailey made a rehab start Tuesday for Triple-A Louisville, in which he allowed five runs in 4 1/3 innings. After trying to throw again on flat ground over the next day or so, Bailey said he felt soreness in new places in his shoulder.

“It was “a little bit alarming for me,” Bailey said Friday.

Bailey does not want to shut it down, Lessard said, but that is how the Reds are going.

“It’s tough for him to swallow, because he wants to go out and pitch,” Lessard said. “He also realizes that he’s not that strong yet.”

Sam LeCure will continue to fill Bailey’s spot in the rotation.
