Hopefully Weathering the Storm

Let's look at some bad skids contending teams have had this season.. The Cards were swept by the crappy Astros. The Red Sox were swept by the Orioles. The Phillies got it handed to them for about a week when they couldn't score anything. Hopefully this win will bring us out of the funk and we will pick up pace against the crappy A's and Indians.

I was hoping that we had signed David Weathers!

This post makes me feel a lot better about our offense. Thank you for bringing up that rough stretch the Phillies had. There are a lot of similarities there, hopefully the 10th inning got the O turned around.

3-7 over the last 10 games, and only 1 game out of 1st place. I'll take it.

Re: Hopefully Weathering the Storm

We won again tonight, and that's all that really matters, but every team we're in contention with (the Top-8 NL teams) also won tonight.

It's like a new race has begun where a lot of teams were going through 8-8 slumps, and they just fired the gun with everyone getting a quick first step.

Here's to the REDS going a real sprint right now.

Let's get the sweep of these A's and move on to the next series.

A pitcher's park plus and a below-average offense usually adds up to a very good outing by Cueto. Keeping his pitch count down would be an added bonus.

Re: Hopefully Weathering the Storm

We're going to need at least 7 shut out innings from Jonny Cueto tomorrow.

Got a shutout and a sweep, as well.
