Darnell McDonald is not your savior.

I continue to LOL at people that say "Only the Reds would have _______ on their roster."

Ramon Ortiz said hello today as well.

For one night, he got to play the part and bask in the glory, though. That's what's so great about baseball.

Great point. That's why I love the sport. Any given night...

Wily Taveras, Darnell McDonald and Alex Gonzalez have all had at least one heroic night this season. What's the world coming to?

I just heard the radio call of his HR, after the initial excitement is over you hear this:

And Wakefield's off the hook, despite 5 walks, 2 wild pitches, a balk, and 9 steals.

That applies to nearly every Reds starter this year.

I'll give you walks, maybe even some WPs and an occasional balk, but no way on the 9 stolen bases.

Re: Darnell McDonald called up by Red Sox Today

The only reason McDonald is on the Major League club is that both Cameron and Ellsbury went on the DL.

Good for him.

I had MLB Network on in the background last night while reading and I heard "blah blah blah Darnell McDonald blah blah blah" and I was like huh? Watched the highlights and I just had to laugh. Dude doesn't give up. Maybe he's the Hal King of this year's Red Sox.

Re: Darnell McDonald called up by Red Sox Today

Darnell kind of grew on me last year. Serviceable type. Not a bad guy to have at AAA in case tragedy strikes.
