AV Club Undercover

Any RedsZoners following this series on The AV Club? They chose 25 songs, asked 25 separate "indie" bands to cover the songs, and they are showing a new one each week.

Highlights include "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" covered by Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, "Game of Pricks" (Guided by Voices song) covered by Owen Pallett, and this week's entry, an astonishingly beautiful version of Journey's "Faithfully" covered by Clem Snide.

Re: AV Club Undercover

I have to say, the one I probably got the biggest kick out of is the "Kokomo" cover by Retribution Gospel Choir, a band I'd never heard of. I like the sincere, reverential treatment of a pretty brutal pop song by a rock band. Also like that the lead singer was such a big fan of the "Cocktail" soundtrack.
