What would it take to get Ichiro?

I'm just throwing that out there. What would it take?

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Ichiro is signed for 2 more years and probably close to 40 mil, 36 years old, and the equivilant of the stars of the BRM in Cincinnati.. he's not going anywhere.

If the entire US west of Cincinnati fell into the Pacific Ocean....and Cincy became a hub of the Pacific Rim with the new west coast's best sushi, the Reds have a chance.

You could kidnap Felix, Ackley, Smoak, and the principal owner's wife and kids, and they might pay Ichiro as the ransom to get them back. It might not be worth the risk of getting caught and spending the rest of your life in prison, though.

That would be incredibly excellent. A big upgrade in WAR, UZR and EyeballTest over all of our LF/CF options.
