7/20- Reds vs. Nationals- Phillips out, Rolen still out
Cabrera 6
Janish 4 Votto 3 Gomes 7 Bruce 9 Cairo 5 Stubbs 7 Miller 2 Leake 1 Miler also in for Hanigan. Not the best lineup today. Hope dearly it's just an off-day for BP. No PBP for me tonight as I'll be at this one 320

It's a fine line-up, I am good with Phillips getting an occasional day of rest. It's hot, and we need him in August and September.

Phillips has been in a slump and played rather than rested during the All-Star break. So it makes sense he should get a day off.
I don't know why Hanigan isn't playing today, although my guess is the Reds want their best possible lineup tomorrow when Strasburg pitches. Reds need to take three of four from the Nats. |

Ugh. Yeah, I don't care for that lineup at all. Miller behind the dish? Janish in the 2 hole and playing SECOND? I get giving Brandon a day off, but I would've bumped Stubbs to the 1 or 2 hole for this one game. Janish needs to be in the bottom half of the lineup. I also would've considered moving Bruce up to the 2 hole. He needs a change, and I think some protection in the lineup is just what the doctor ordered.
Today (and health) not withstanding, I've been leaning towards something like this... Phillips Bruce Votto Rolen Gomes Hanigan Stubbs Cabrera/Janish Pitcher But watch...we'll score 15 runs with the lineup we're running out there today. *grin*
