I have no problems with it. And, it's nice to see Dusty load up the lefties without being scared of the end of the game for a change.
And I most certainly won't miss seeing Gomes against Oswalt. |

Nix is 7-15 lifetime vs. Oswalt.

Re: 7/24/10 Reds @ Astros--Deep in the Heart of Lefties
Nix hitting 4th actually makes sense when you consider...
A. he won't be allowed to face a lefty out of the pen, so really it's like L/R/L (if that makes sense) and B. he has hit Oswalt well. |

C. Nix is about to be sent down(DFA) and this is Dusty giving Laynce his going away present.

I don't think they'll dump Laynce. I think Heisey gets optioned.

Re: 7/24/10 Reds @ Astros--Deep in the Heart of Lefties
I really hope your wrong. The good thing about that is Heisey could get regular playing time in AAA and be sharp in Sept. when called back up but I would still prefer Nix be the odd man out when Dickerson is recalled.

I don't think Dickerson will be back anytime soon.

I'd rather have Heisey over Dickerson....
I'd rather have Dickerson over Nix.... But, can Dickerson play D in all 3 OF's as well as Nix does?

I doubt they would dump a right hander for left hander. I think Nix is the guy to go.

Re: 7/24/10 Reds @ Astros--Deep in the Heart of Lefties
I think Dickerson can play all three OF positions just as well or better than Nix does. Chris gets on base more but Laynce has more power.

We won't send Heisey down. It's Dickerson or Nix, and unfortunatley I think they'll chose Nix.

I have no problem with Dusty for starting Nix with Oswalt on the mound.
