Guys traded at the deadline.

Thought I do a updating thread of all the main players moved at the deadline.

To see if they were an actual improvement over in house options.

Texas
SP Cliff Lee - 2-2 in 6 starts (4 QS) 2.63 ERA
C Benji Molina - .582 OPS in 79 AB's
IF Cristian Guzman - .294 OPS in 26 AB's
IF Jorge Cantu - .702 OPS in 16 AB's

Seattle
1B Justin Smoak - .439 OPS in 63 AB's (Safco isn't Arlington)

Toronto
SS Yunel Escobar - .762 OPS in 84 AB's

LA Angels
IF Alberto Callapso - .628 OPS in 59 AB's
SP Dan Haren - 0-2 in 3 Starts (1 QS) 3.60 ERA

Arizona

SP Dan Hudson - 2-0 in 2 Starts (2 QS) 1.15 ERA
RP DJ Carrasco - 4 Appearances (4 IP) 9.00 ERA
OF Ryan Church - .697 OPS in 9 AB's
IF Bobby Crosby - .450 OPS in 8 AB's

Chicago WS

Detroit
IF Johnny Peralta - .679 OPS in 42 AB's

LA Dodgers

RP Octavio Dotel - 3 Appearances (3 IP) 6.00 ERA
SP Ted Lilly - 2-0 2 Starts (2 QS) 2.77 ERA
IF Ryan Theriot - .614 OPS in 31 AB's

Chicago Cubs
2B Blake DeWitt - .860 OPS in 27 AB's

Philadelphia
SP Roy Oswalt - 0-1 2 Starts (1 QS) 4.38 ERA

Houston
SP JA Happ - 1-1 2 Starts (1 QS) 9.00 ERA
1B Brett Wallace .865 OPS in 24 AB's

Minnesota
RP Matt Capps - 5 Appearances (5 IP) 1.80 ERA 2 Saves (3 Chances)

Yankees
1B Lance Berkman - .500 OPS in 27 AB's
OF Austin Kearns - .425 OPS in 8 AB's
RP Kerry Wood - 4 Appearances (4.1 IP) 2.08 ERA

Atlanta
OF Rick Ankiel - .448 OPS in 32 AB's
RP Kyle Farnsworth - 4 Appearances (2.2 IP) 16.87 ERA
SS Alex Gonzalez - .787 OPS in 81 AB's

Pittsburgh
C Chris Snyder - .714 OPS in 21 AB's
SP James McDonald - 1-0 1 Start (1 QS) 0.00 ERA

San Diego
3B Miguel Tejada - .639 OPS in 37 AB's
OF Ryan Ludwick - .464 OPS in 28 AB's

Tampa Bay
RP Chad Qualls - 5 Appearances (4.2 IP) 5.79 ERA

St Louis
SP Jake Westbrook - 0-0 2 Starts (2 QS) 3.46 ERA

San Francisco
RP Javier Lopez - 5 Appearances (4.1 IP) 0.00 ERA
RP Ramon Ramirez - 4 Appearances (3.1 IP) 0.00 ERA

So far not a whole lot of upgrades from all the movement. Which goes to show there really wasn't a whole lot out there past Lee.

Re: Guys traded at the deadline.

I may get around to it myself at some point maybe in the offseason but it would be neat to keep track of the deadline deals, might give some a real indicator of what is fair and what is unreasonable in deals these days. The past 2 seasons buyers have been robbing people, well not all buyers but most.

Re: Guys traded at the deadline.

Love the thread idea. I think the Sox are going to regret the Hudson-Jackson swap.
