Drafts for other teams

I just noticed that the Cadinals signed 44/50 of their picks!

The Cubs for instance though, signed 29/50 picks.

The Brew Crew signed 35/50, but didn't sign their top pick Covey (he was just diagnosed with Type I Diabetes and decided he wanted to go to school instead).

Data still hasn't been reported for all teams, but I just found that interesting that the Cards signed so many picks! They may have even signed more than 44...those were just the ones that had been reported!!

The dodgers gave their pick almost 6 milllion. Which made me laugh because they will likely end up trading him for some below average fielder and ask the other team to eat the remaining salary.

The Cards drafted Austin Wilson, a first round talent, in the 12th round who fell because of his commitment to college.

He didn't get signed.

Re: Drafts for other teams

It looks like we signed 32 of 50. Can't find how that compares to last year, but like last year, we got the top 15.

That's the important part. After that, most picks are a roll of the dice anyway.

Not all the picks in all the years are updated, but most of ya'll know who played in our system at one time or another. Goes back to 2000. Looking at the pre Buckley drafts makes me feel a little ill...

2000-2003 were some really horrendous drafts. Really only yielded Joey Votto, and nothing else.

I always like looking at stuff like that, seeing all the players that were drafted late out of High School and didn't sign only to be drafted in the first round years later and blossom. Like I hadn't realized the Reds drafted Nick Markakis twice
