Sunday, August 29, 2010, Minor-League Updates
Micah Owings gets the start for Louisville today. Through the first three innings, he's given up only two hits. Bats lead, 1-0, Frazier driving in Sappelt, who is 2 for 2 with a 2B.

Re: Sunday, August 19, 2010, Minor-League Updates
Congratulations to the DSL Reds! They knocked off the Cubs, 5-1, to advance to the finals of the DSL championships. With a 51-21 regular-season record, the Cubs were easily the best team in the league.
The starter and winning pitcher was Cesar Caceres--who was actually not one of the Reds' top guys during the season. Carlos Ramos (as usual) and Eury Cantalizo provided great relief. The finals start Tuesday. It's a best-of-three. They play the Giants, who had a nearly identical record as the Reds during the season. |

OK, let's do it this way. I mistakenly started today's thread as Aug. 19. It started like this:

Then New Fever added that Mesoraco hit home run #26 and the Bats had a 2-0 lead.

After mth123 pointed out the error of the thread title, I posted this:

A new thread has been started with the correct title. So let's use that one.

The Bats have busted out to a 7-0 lead after seven. Alonso added a HR. Jeremy Horst pitched 2.2 strong innings, and Jordan Smith has gone 1.1.
