The Buzzkill

I am loving this season as much as everyone else, but I'm trying to not let my enthusiasm soar too high. Things have been going so well, I guess I'm just waiting for some bad luck. Perhaps this has to do with being a Cincinnati sports fan.

There was the collapse in '99 and the dreaded Al Leiter one-game playoff.

Kenyon Martin getting hurt, derailing a likely Final Four appearance.

Carson being taken out in the playoffs against the Steelers.

It seems like in the past few decade or so, once we get a team that really captures our imagination and we begin to dream of celebratory parades, a big bucket of cold water is tossed onto the fire.

I want to go "all in" with this team, but man, those heartbreaks in the past still hurt.

Ah, who am I kidding? I can't hold back. Votto will win MVP and Chapman will lead the team at 103 mph to a World Series Championship!! Go Reds!
