Rob Neyer Looks At The Enormity Of 4256

Neyer looks at what Rose had to do to be able to reach 4256 and compares it with how difficult it might be for someone else to get to 4000, let alone 4256. And no cheap shots at Rose's gambling problem. Just a straight, above board take based sorely on his playing career.

Why Pete Rose's Record Will Stand

Re: Rob Neyer Looks At The Enormity Of 4256

Great article about a record that will likely never be broken. And about the man who holds it. I loved Pete Rose the player. So much so that I wore his #14 for several teams during my Little League and Babe Ruth playing years. Baseball fans who are too young to have been able to watch Pete in his prime, don't realize how special, unique and exciting he was. And how exciting and enjoyable it was to watch him. We'll never see another player like him, and his hits record will never be broken. Thanks for posting the article. It's nice to see a piece about Pete that doesn't include the usual garbage.

Ain't that the truth. And it was a nice article indeed.
