Steve Selsky (double, 3 RBIs) made his debut. He was a 33rd rounder from Arizona whom we haven't listed as signed.

Whats up with Renken?

Injury? Extra day of rest? Callup? Bad Chicken on the road trip?

Renken went 3-0, 0.93 in five starts in July...allowed a total of three earned runs over his last six starts.

Both to the same section in right center. Dorn's was a bomb. Valaika's barely cleared the fence (actually came back onto the field after hitting just above the wall).

Carolina is up 2-0 in the first. Rodriguez and Cook walked and scored on singles by Soto and Rhinehart.

Re: Monday, August 1st, Minor League Updates

Phipps is really not impressed with AAA pitching. 2 for 3 tonight and currently hitting .368 with the Bats.

Anybody have him as their breakout player for this season?

Bats up 3-1 in the top of the 6th.

Neftali Soto hit his 21st of the year. Carolina is up 5-0.

Nope egg on my face, also as far as Soto is concerned too. When will either guy cool off? I hope never

Soto just hit his second homerun of the night. He has 22 now in 74 games.

Re: Monday, August 1st, Minor League Updates

A blown save for Jordan Smith as Louisville falls in the ninth, 4-3. Phipps, 3-4, ends the night at .385.

Volquez started that game: 7 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K.
