Price to sign free agents is going through the roof

Agree with Jocketty. Don't get involved. Let other teams blow their payrolls on these guys. These long term deals kill teams when the player moves out of his prime and into old age.

Make trades for guys already signed, still early in their careers not making much, or headed to their first arbitration.

Trade for Choo would be nice.

Swap contracts for Beltran for nice.

Ok so the Reds shouldn't sign Crawford, but trading Cordero and the payroll increases 7.5 million anyway? Without getting a Leadoff hitter or Left Fielder? Why not trade Cordero to the Angels, who actually need a Closer and sign Crawford and the payroll goes up 15 million-16 million for Crawford, then the payroll raises 3-4 Million instead of your 7.5 Million.

The Mets will not pay any of Beltrans Contract.

Then the Mets will have to keep Mr. Beltran and his over-inflated contract.
