Recipes using SKyline Chili

One of my local grocery stores carries frozen Skyline Chili (just the chili). I've made the dip using cream cheese before, but I know there has to be other things that the chili can be used for.

Any ideas?

Get those little pie crusts (finger sized) fill with chili, top with cheese.

Stuffed 4 way baked potatoes with chili/onions/cheese

My sister-in-law just did this over Christmas, but added cocktail wieners for little coney bites.

Here's the official site with recipes, but nothing special in my opinion.

Re: Recipes using SKyline Chili

You can put it on spaghetti, with cheese, beans, and onions

I like it on burritos

It works well with potato skins.

I have made pizza with it before that was quite good. Whole wheat crust, chili, cheddar cheese and onions. Simple but good.

I've had skyline chili....its suitable for human consumption, but why on earth would anyone want to use it in recipes?

I don't know, the only recipe I think it is useful for is to refill a car battery. Yuck to Skyline and Goldstar. Now Frisch Big Boy Chili I can appreciate.

Big Boy Chili would make good opossum bait, no cinnamon.

However I do agree about making 'recipes' for the stuff... isn't how's it available enough? It's not really a filler per se, especially from a can.

But the cook in me screams out stupid ways to use it.

Three Way Lasagna

Frito Pie

Faux sundaes served in a parfait glass, scoop of chili with cheese and sour cream

Scotch eggs with chili meatballs in the center.

Chili Empanadas

I can't get past the idea of chili in a can. Where'd the meat come from? I do have a couple skyline spice packets in the cabinet though.

Can't stand the stuff from a can, but I do like the chili packs. I have to order them online though, no Krogers around here.

My sophomore year at OU, I was a grill cook at the local Athens Frisch's (nothing like being a full-time student and having a full-time job). Worked the evening shift, 4-midnight.

I was poor. Like, the money I made paid for books and rent. Not much left for food. So I ate a big meal at Frisch's for dinner and occasionally "borrowed" food from the walk-in cooler. One of those things was a big wax gallon container of either Frisch's chili or vegetable soup. I ate that stuff all the time for a year. Like, every day. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner (what can I say, I was a college student).

I still loves me a Big Boy with extra sauce and onion rings, but the thought of Frisch's chili or vegetable soup makes me pale. I ate a lifetime's worth in 9 months.

I will be forever grateful that my OU job was at Casa Nueva. I ate so much better than almost everyone I know.
