Wow. I have been reading about this tragic accident online this morning. The P-51 pilot was age 74, so there has been speculation that perhaps he was having a medical issue of some sort. Video makes it appear as if the plane was still running wide open when it crashed.

Reports now that there may have been a mechanical issue with the P-51.
