Friday 5/27/2011 minor league updates
Right-handed reliever Clayton Shunick has been promoted from High-A Bakersfield to Double-A Carolina. Shunick is coming "home" as he was drafted in the fifth round in the 2008 draft out of NC State University. This year, Shunick posted a 1.67 ERA in 13 games for the Blaze.

Re: Friday 5/27/2011 minor league updates
I was just looking at Zack Cozart's line for the season (.282/.327/.436) with ~6% walk rate and 12% K rate (he's ~19% historically) and couldn't help but be reminded of Juan Uribe. I guess that's neither here nor there, but I thought it was an interesting comp.

I am at the Bats game. Reineke was pulled after two good innings. Any word on a reason? Callup?

There are lots of rumors circulating. Dayton had two pitchers warming up to start the game. Same kind of deal as LVL.

Bats down 4 1 in the top of the sixth. Only five hits for the Bats so far. Lehr not pitching well.

McCulloch ended up giving up 6 earned in the top of the fourth. Felix Perez is continuing his disappointing 2011 season with an 0 for 2.

Matthews, Barnhart and Lohman all single to start off the top of the 5th and the Dragons get two. Hamilton had one of the RBI.

Danny Dorn comes through with an RBI but Clevlen makes an out. Bats trail 6 4 heading into the 9th.
