At Louisville tonight, it's Volquez vs. Andrew Brackman. I'm sure you'll be stunned to hear that Volquez gave up a run in the first.

Sounds crazy, but Carolina overcame a 3-0 deficit to win 7-3 with a 4-run eighth. Great relief again from Christiani and Boxberger, who struck out the side in the ninth. James Skelton was 2/3 with a 2B, 3B and 2 RBIs.

Pedro Villarreal has been called up from Bakersfield to Carolina. And the Reds signed Tim Gustafson. He was with the Mississppi Braves. He'll start Sunday for the Mudcats.
