63 pitches through 3 for Dempster. Guys are making him work.

Dempster with 63 pitches through three. Bruce really worked him pretty good. Very good piece of hitting it sounded like.

For anybody who doesn't think this team is a bat short, look at 5-9 in the lineup today.

Perhaps it feels that way and Thom agrees with you. But according to MLB.com Votto is hitting .420 with RISP with an OPS of 1.223. I think I'll take that.

Pena a two run homer. 2-1 Cubs. Looked like it was right down the middle according to MLB pitch trax.

Back to back as I write. 3-1 Cubs. Blaaaahhhhh.......

That money they gave Arroyo looks awful.

The Brew Crew rolled out McGehee, Betancourt, Lucroy and Gomez last night. Betancourt as a #6.

Betancourt has nearly 100 PAs in the 6 hole for the Brewers. He is hitting .218/.255/.276 as the 6 hitter.

So the top priority for the team that is first in the league in runs scored and given up the third most runs in the league is another bat?

I thought you could tag a runner out if he slides and goes pass the bag?

Well, of course the team could use another bat, what team couldn't?

3-1 Cubs in the middle of the 4th.
This game came to a screeching halt all of the sudden. Back on pace for a three hour game.
