Arroyo and the trading deadline

If the Reds acquire either Shields or Jimenez, the rotation could be....

Shields
Cueto
Leake
Bailey
Willis?

Would you trade Bronson to unload his contract?

We're already saving on Cordero ($12M) and Hernandez ($3M), Gomes ($2M), and Renteria ($2M) at the end of the season. That's $19M + probably some others saved. We could save around $30M if Arroyo is dealt. But then you add Shields and there are pay raises for others.

I could be wrong but I dont think his contract is very trade friendly for us.

But if possible Id trade him whether we trade for another guy or not. Hes not worth 5 mil a year let alone 12 or whatever we are paying.

Re: Arroyo and the trading deadline

According to Cot's, if we trade Arroyo, we owe him the $15MM deferred right up front. In other words, he's not going anywhere...
