Felix Hernandez

With the Mariners falling so hard out of contention do you think the reds could make a move for king felix?

Re: Felix Hernandez

No. He would cost the farm, and if I remember correctly his contract is pretty hefty.

So you are saying Felix wouldn't be an upgrade? I agree, hitting right now is the bigger issue. We need a 4 hitter and a leadoff guy, but dismissing a TOR because we need hitting seems rash. Both are needs.

Re: Felix Hernandez

The Mariners stayed in contention until the last two weeks with something like a .240 team BA thanks to guys like King Felix.

Re: Felix Hernandez

Two other Mariner starters have better e.r.a.'s than King Felix. Felix makes $19 to $20M for the next 3 or 4 seasons.

Just say no. Reds can't afford that.

We having TOR guys, we don't have legit run producers in the field.

Dickey is average? In 26 starts last year, he had a 2.84 e.r.a. and a WHIP of 1.19. In 21 starts this year, he has an e.r.a. of 3.74.

This year he's statistically on par with Bailey and Willis, and better than Leake, Wood, and Volquez.
