Other:

Also, Mackey Sasser (50) has a birthday today. One of my favorite baseball player names. His actual given name is Mack Daniel Sasser, nicknamed 'The Hacker'. Played from '87 thru '95, mostly for the Mets.

Re: Birthdays- 8/3

Roger Repoz (72) -When Roger was a minor leaguer in the Yankee system, he was considered to be the next Mickey Mantle. Once they got a load of him in the bigs, they decided that no, maybe Bobby Murcer was the next Mickey Mantle. Roger's career .224 BA was the lowest by an outfielder with more than 2000 PAs until Rob Deer broke the record. Repoz later played in Japan with more success. There was, however one incident when Repoz, Clyde Wright and Charlie Manuel got their you-know-whats kicked in a bar fight with the East German hockey team. How much do you have to drink before getting into a fight with the East German hockey team seems like a good idea?
