Reds stats through 130 games

Have to be brief today. Reds go 5-5 in tough stretch including at Phil and v. Cards. Reds 78-42, most wins in MLB, trail only Nats in winning percentage (Reds at .600). 42-24 home, 36-28 road. Reds lead by six games, which is .5 less than last time. But the second place team has changed with Cards having gained 2.5 on Reds while Bucs lost 2.5. Reds +72 RS/RA, Cards at +127, Pirates now just +10. ESPN has Reds at 98.7 percent chance of making playoffs, Cards at 81.2 percent, Pirates down to 20.2 percent.

Redmond sent back to AAA after doubleheader start. Mesoraco served suspension then to AAA. Navarro up. Ondrusek down. Hoover up.

Offense - Reds with .256/.319/.427/.746 as compared with .254/.319/.429/.747 last time. So last time a big jump in offensive percentages, this time stayed about level. Reds at .321 wOBA which is fourth in NL. Reds at 98 wRC+ tied for third-fourth. Reds position player WAR is 23.2, fourth in the NL. Reds weak spots, OBP and BA now a tad above league average.

For month of August so far, Ludwick and Rolen are above 1.000 OPS. Frazier at .997. Cozart at .769. Stubbs at .515.

Pitching - Overall team ERA rose from 3.36 to 3.48. Starting pitcher ERA rose from 3.65 to 3.78. Relief pitching ERA rose from 2.64 to 2.79. Some fatigue could be setting in with Reds having played 32 games in 32 days.

Reds FIP is 3.74, fourth in NL, Cards second, Pirates now 12th. Reds xFIP is 3.80, fifth in NL.

Starters ERAs, Cueto 2.47, Arroyo and Latos 3.84, Bailey 4.24, Leake 4.51.

Chapman since All Star Break, 1-0, .38 ERA, .68 WHIP, 1 earned run allowed, 23.2 innings.

Last 30 days Leake 5.88 ERA, Simon 6.17, Bailey 7.03.

Fielding - Reds now with 74 error, had 66 last time. Some defensive slippage. Reds UZR rating is 8th in league at .2 UZR/150 at .1 seventh in NL.

The dog days of August are nearly over. Ready to turn over the calendar, get our first baseman back, and head off to the 95+ win territory, maybe best record in NL.

Re: Reds stats through 130 games

Next couple of days could be very interesting. Do we make roster tweaks for playoffs? Any waiver wire adds? Do we bring up Hamilton prior to Aug 31 so he is eligible?

This team is going to be ready for some reinforcements. I think Mes, Votto, Redmon all get activated Sept 1. Soto might also get a shot. I don't think there is anyone else other than Hamilton that even gets consideration.

Indeed, and the off day on the 30th should help as well. They have plenty of off days in September.

That's an amazing statement."
