9.15.11 Cubs @ Reds

Beware the Ides of September!

Reds lineup vs. Cubs

Phillips 4
Stubbs 8
Votto 3
Alonso 7
Heisey 9
Frazier 5
Hanigan 2
Janish 6
Bailey 1

Cubs Lineup
Castro SS,
Barney 2B,
Ramirez 3B,
Peña 1B,
LaHair LF,
Byrd CF,
Colvin RF,

Do the Cubs have no kids that should be complaining about lack of pt?
Edit: I see LaHair is a callup.

Re: 9.15.11 Cubs @ Reds

I cannot stand this pitcher for the Cubs. He does not throw strikes...throws garbage basically...but even a smart hitter like Alonso is fooled on what was ball 6., I guess I should be mad at the Reds hitters for not figuring this guy out by now.

Phillips doesn't want Votto to catch him on the REDS HR list!

After 4 innings, Cubs 4, Reds 2.

Bailey at 79 pitches, 50 strikes.
Wells at 62 pitches, 36 strikes.

Cubs runs from 2 run HRs by Pena and Byrd in the 1st.
Reds runs from solo HRs from Phillips and Heisey.

Shame two of Bailey's strikes ended up in the seats. Otherwise, that's a nice accounting.

BTW, score is tied, sacks are jammed. Don't know how the 3rd run scored, but Alonso walked to force in the tying run. Heisey up after a pitching change, one down. Notre Dame player with long name pitching.

Slow roller up the middle, Heisey beats the throw, run scores, bases still loaded. Reds up 5-4, Frazier up.
