The Manny thing was nuts and the 2 collapses were fun to watch, but man the DBacks should be AWFUL. Nobody was in more disarray last year than those guys. Now they beat out one of the more balanced divisions including the defending champs. Ian Kennedy as a CY candidate? Are you kidding?
I would probably say the Pirates had a better shot than those guys in spring training.

I would say the Red Sox collapse just because if all was even, I would think that team was too stacked to miss the playoffs, let a long with a 9 game lead going into the last month of the season.

You didn't include the Reds hovering just under the .500 mark for most of the season? It was like watching someone take 5 months to drown in slow motion, just under the surface of the water.
