No Red Sox. No Phillies. No Braves. No Giants. No Dodgers. Who exactly are the media going to push this year? Except for the fact that Selig is historically tied to the Brewers, I imagine the brass is throwing up in their mouths a little. |

I think it's great. Only downside is you'll probably have people saying you don't have to invest money to win. You do. You just don't have to spend outlandishly/foolishly.

Pretty much. Really, it's about having the right people in the organization who know talent when they see it, and can turn that into production. Who would have pegged Berkman as a breakout player, what with playing horrible right field defense? Or had the patience to watch Verlander develop into a true ace rather than trade him for buckets of known production? Or seen that adding Marcum and Grienke was exactly the kind of boost their rotation needed?
