Reds:
Stan Jefferson (49) -Appeared briefly with the 1991 Reds. Later became a New York City cop, and was on duty at the World Trade Center after thr 9/11 attacks.
Lee Smith (54) -Held the career save record for 13 years. Was scouted for the Cubs by the legendary Buck O'Neill.
Others:
David Green (50) -Nicaraguan super prospect, who never achieved the stardom predicted for him.
Harvey Kuenn -Shortstop turned outfielder turned manager of the first Brewers World Series champs. Once kicked a 53-yard field goal in high school.
Bob Shawkey -Known as "Bob the Gob" because he had been in the navy. Winning pitcher in the first game at old Yankee Stadium.
Jesse Burkett -Nicknamed "The Crab", he was the first West Virginian to make the HOF. His plaque there says he hit .400 three times, but subsequent research shows it was only two.
