Riggleman named Wahoo's first manager

Former Nationals' skipper Jim Riggleman will be named the first manager of the Double-A Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

This is an excellent signing. Really like how this front office has built the minor league coaching staffs over the last few years.

Wow, the Reds minor league system is loaded with strong managers now. Hope Dusty is paying attention, seems to be plenty of guys ready to move up the chain with Bell, Riggleman, Griffey.

Getting a AA job is how Riggleman attempts to get into the good graces of baseball again after quitting his job mid-season last year.

I think there was a lot more to the story than Riggleman walking out. Ownership and the front office did not treat him all that well. He had a job in baseball last year -- it's not like he's been blackballed.

I don't think people were conspiring against him. But no major league team was going to hire a guy who quit mid-season because he wanted a contract extension and wasn't getting it.

Re: Riggleman named Wahoo's first manager

Nice time to post a link to my blog about the Wahoo's.

Still find it odd that they haven't announced the HC & PC.

For my own education, what is the problem with the link? Isn't this his own blog? Thanks.

It does, however, look like a site that will be of direct interest to those who post in this forum.

You aren't supposed to link to your own stuff, even if it is rather relevant to the conversation at hand. Especially if you just provide a link rather than the article/data from the link that is pertinent.
