To a chorus of boos, Roger Goodell waddles his way to the podium and thanks all the New Yorkers for wearing Jets gear and eating pizza. He thanks all the men at home for avoiding housework so this presentation could be a nice ratings grab. So without further ado, Speedstick (TM) presents the 2013 NFL Draft.

With the first pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select:

Eric Fisher, OT - Central Michigan

Despite the Chiefs putting the franchise tag on Brandon Albert, the Chiefs will use the first pick on the fastest rising star in the draft.

With the number 2 pick in the draft, the Jaguars select Ziggy Ansah. DE BYU. Jags continue to have trouble rushing the passer. Ziggy would seem to be this years Jason Pierre Paul.

It may take Ziggy a couple years to reach his full potential, but the Jags need a couple years also.

Wow didn't see that pick coming at all!!! Like Ziggy not sure I love him more than Dion Jordan. We are off to a good start so far let's keep it going. Love the draft and the mock.

Couple mock drafts having him going to Jags. Like Pete Prisco of CBS. There's a lot of talk that you can get a good DE at pick 33, so I debated Joeckel or a DB. We have a good LT in Monroe who's coming up for FA next year, so drafting Joeckel and moving Monroe might make him want to seek greener pastures......

Both guys are good no doubt I just think in the win now mode of the NFL a new coach isn't going to want to wait on Ansah to develop. But heck what do I know I scratched my head on Irvin going to Seattle last yr, and Ansah is definitely an explosive player.

The Oakland Raiders could really use a DT after losing both Desmond Bryant and Seymour to FA, but we have decided to go with Luke Joeckel, T, TAMU. The decision came down to Sharrif Floyd and Joeckel, we thought Joeckel would be the biggest upgrade. When in doubt, go with the BPA.

Well, with KC openly shopping Branden Albert, this first pick makes sense. Otherwise.....not at all. For the life of me, I just don't understand trying to trade a Top 5 LT, and then draft one, that for all we know, could end up being Tony Mandrich Jr.

With the decreased salary for rookies, you will see this more often (imo).

Teams will not necessarily overpay for an older guy when you canget a younger guy much, much cheaper (and have less wear and tear and injury worries).

Back when the 1st pick in draft got a top 5 money for their position, it really wasn't a sensible option...

I sent camisadelgolf a PM and they have been on the board since and have not made a pick. To get this moving again I will make a pick if he does not in the next 2 hours, which would be 24 hours since the last pick was made.

With the 4th pick, the Philadelphia Eagles select Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida. We did not expect Floyd to be available with the 4th selection and are thrilled to add him to our team.

With the 5th pick the Detroit Lions select T Lane Johnson, Oklahoma.

With the sixth pick, the Cleveland Browns realized we were the most predictable team in the NFL on offense and have needs everywhere on offense. With Norv Turner being our new OC, we realize he loves to throw the ball deep to keep defenses honest. We believe Weeden has the arm to do and so with that we select Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee. We believe at worse he can be Devery Henderson and at his best Julio Jones.
