This has been a very informative series. As for the starting pitchers, it's remarkable how nearly every guy is an interesting case unto himself.

Didn't realize that they've contemplated James Allen as a starter. That'll be an item to watch. As will the injury recoveries of Jacob Johnson and Drew Cisco, and the suspension returns of Cole Green and Daniel Tuttle. A lot of provocative depth there.

An organization can never have enough starting pitching. Can't wait to see how Cisco, Covington, Romano and Stephenson perform.

Apparently, they are certain that Cingrani will jump to Bakersfield.

Nothing is ever certain until the last meeting involving Benavides and others and final decisions are made. I have seen guys get off the plane in the host city, only to be told that you are going somewhere else, before the first workout even takes place. Plans going into spring training can change in that last meeting.

In some respects, it is a bit like a company filling a job opening with multiple interviews. Someone may seem to have the inside track, but until the big boss decides, nothing is certain. Cingrani may have been penciled in for Bakersfield but don't bank on anything yet.

It was two years ago when Byron Wiley was bumped back to Dayton literally the last day of spring training and no one saw that coming.

Yeah, moves made at the Major League level can cause trickle downs all the way until that last day. The idea of wanting someone to be in X place can get pushed back because of a sheer numbers game and not wanting to just cut someone to make room.
