Interesting preseason OF picture for the Dragons. Mix of blue collar and high ceiling types, some on the young side, some on the old. Personally, I like Smith and Selsky better than most around here, I think.

Re: Dayton Dragons 2012 Preview: Outfielders
For me, those two seem to get blurred with the likes of Dayne Read, Drew Poulk, Jaren Matthews and Stephen Hunt--slightly older, lower-level former college guys who tear it up for short spurts but don't have much pub or reputation, so you just don't know. But the descriptions in this preview certainly seem to bear out your position. I'm in.

Re: Dayton Dragons 2012 Preview: Outfielders
A lot of players were omitted from the discussion for some reason. First of all, is it certain that Juan Duran is going to Bakersfield? I'd imagine so--at least to help get his confidence up--but even though the Reds would like to hurry his development, it might do him some good to stay. And why is it assumed that Kurt Muller is getting promoted? Most importantly, why was Spencer Dickinson not mentioned? He played in Billings last year and more-than-held his own.

This is the first I've heard of Bryson Smith. I like what I'm reading.

Smith may end up going to Bakersfield to play centerfield as one of four level-jumpers in the system this year (along with Hayes, Corcino, and Cingrani).

Re: Dayton Dragons 2012 Preview: Outfielders
I wonder how much skipping Bryson Smith has to do with trying to show that Yorman Rodriguez actually needs to earn his promotions.
