It was a bad inning, but no credit for the 2 spotless innings thereafter.
Putting the team down 4-0 in the first is not what league average pitchers do, no matter how well he pitches the rest of the game.

At this point, yes. Arroyo ain't going anywhere, and Bailey, despite the defense from y'all, really isn't all that. The best you can do is "he's average!". Well, at this point, not really seeing that as an argument in his favor.

If he were to do that every game, I'd agree with you. But it's ONE inning. I think we're a little quick on the trigger here. Everybody has a bad inning now and again.

He got lucky there. A borderline strike call. Westbrook strikes out looking. 4-0 Cards mid 4th.

That's not Homer Bailey's fault......

And how come Arroyo does not get subject to the same complaints?

He can have one bad inning and then go 7 strong with 4 ER. That is about league average. We need our offense to wake up before the 9th though.

You say Arroyo ain't gonna anywhere.

I can say Chapman ain't leaving the pen.

If you were calling the shots, would you remove Homer or Bronson?

Actually, yes, they do some times (as proven here).

A league average pitcher does not churn out 6 innings 3 runs every game.

If Homer is removed from the rotation, he shouldn't go to the pen.

I see how Dusty made the decision to put Chapman back in the pen. He has worked out of the pen with a ton of success and no issues. Homer has started the whole time with some success.

It was a move of comfort...

It was definitely over the plate. Had late tail spin on it.

He melts down and gives up a big inning all the time, in nearly half of his starts last year. If this was the first time he's imploded like this, he would deserve some slack, but alas, it is not.

Well Chapman isn't replacing both of them.

At some point, you guys are going to have to live with the fact that the Reds aren't going to have 5 aces (you think you would have by now since we never have any!).
