Re: 2012 Minor League Transactions

Curt Partch and Wilkin De La Rosa switched places with Patch getting demoted to Bakersfield following some terrible numbers in Pensacola. Andrew Means was activated from Bakersfield's disabled list and made his 2012 debut last night.

Re: 2012 Minor League Transactions

Sean Buckley was activated from the disabled list, and Robert Maddox was sent back down from Dayton to make room.

And as it has already been posted elsewhere, J.J. Hoover was called up to replace Bill Bray, who was placed on the disabled list.

In case you didn't already know about Wirfin Obispo, he was originally signed by the Red Sox as an infielder but released not very long after. The Reds proceeded to sign him and convert him to a reliever. However, he got in trouble for participating in a Dominican marriage scandal. Following that, he went to play in Japan for about five years but missed significant playing time due to injury. Anyway, the Reds signed the 27-year-old this off-season, and last night he made his first appearance for the Reds since 2006. He struck out one and allowed two hits in one inning of work.

Re: 2012 Minor League Transactions

The Wahoos roster gets even more interesting:

Koyie Hill assigned to Pensacola Blue Wahoos

This might just be a paper move.

When did the Reds sign Koyie Hill??

What do you mean by paper move? Hangian/Mesoraco are obviously better then Koyie, Dioner has been on fire in AAA, and Corky has value as a "4th coach"/future manager.

A friend of mine played in the minors in the 50's for the Reds. We went to Cooperstown and got a copy of his contract cards and it showed him playing for various clubs, but he said he never played for them. It was while he was in the service and they moved his contract around to whoever had an opening.
