Lineup idea

Just for the heck of it I know dusty would never do this but this is what I would love to see with the reds line up once BP is 100%
1. Phillips 2B
2. Cozart SS
3. Votto 1B
4. Mesoraco C (let him start every day except for bronson's)
5. Bruce RF
6. Stubbs/Heisey CF
7. Frazier LF
8. Rolen 3B
9.Pitcher

The offense has clicked well since he changed it. Why mess with it. Also Mesoraco shouldn't get more the 2 out of 5 games. Hes proven hes still young and needs time to learn. Why rush him. Hannigan is servicing this team just fine. Let the youngster have the year to learn and then make him the everyday guy. Also Rolen should in the 5 or 6 hole.

Ok so if Mes isn't in the 4 hole then I would say Frazier should be there so he would break up the Lefties and he would actually get to see decent pitches between Votto and Bruce.

you need somebody great to bat behind votto so that our star gets pitches.

Not enough. Phillips is the closest thing to a clean up hitter we have. I would rather see fraizer leadoff the hit cleanup.

Honestly right now When Bruce is Hot like this he should hit 4th. Votto would see alot more. Forget splitting the lefties. I hate that theory.

As good as Mes is and will be in the future, I like what Hanigan brings with his defense and low K rate. That lineup may be a good one in the future, but not yet, and maybe not this year. Hanigan is in his prime now and should get about half the starts at catcher minimum.

I do like the idea of batting the catchers higher in the line up, but Bruce and Phillips are much better suited to drive in runs at the clean up position at this point in their careers. That's a tough spot to fill and I'm not even sure the Reds have a true cleanup hitter.

I also like the idea of Rolen batting low in the lineup, but I'd still rather see Stubbs bat 8th. Should he get on base, it's a perfect pitcher sacrifice situation to get our fastest player on 2nd base with the top of the order coming up.

I know it is. This theory and the match up out of the bullpen drives me nuts. I hate seeing a pitcher wasted on one batter unless he just finishes the inning and they pinch hit for him.

Mesoraco is not ready to be an everyday catcher. right now I would go with Hannigan 60% and Mesoraco 40% this season...
