Re: Reds vs. Pirates Saturday 5/5

Wow, Arry got bailed out there. That's about as unimpressive a scoreless inning as a pitcher can have.

Gotta love the Pirates, they give Mike Leake a quality start and bailout a horribly throwing Arre

One of those nights, hard hit balls that get caught.

Re: Reds vs. Pirates Saturday 5/5

It seems like luck has played a big part in this game, and none of it has been on the Reds side.

That's the price dusty pays for splitting up the lefties

Latos is given the same warning as Leake except even more responsibilty: Either shut these guys down or move down in the rotation.

I doubt the Reds score much(maybe 3-4 runs max).

Phillips has been very open about not like the cleanup spot. He says he feels he needs to do more with power and less of what he's best at.

But Dusty doesn't care.

Bat
Bruce
Fourth

We aren't blessed with Braun, Miggy Cabrera, Kemp or Tulo....Bruce is the best option and it's so easy....but a 7th inning potential matchup prevents Dusty from being able to do this.

Re: Reds vs. Pirates Saturday 5/5

That blown call by the ump when Votto clearly scored, was huge. Just not our night. Couldn't get a break. We need Latos to be the Latos we traded for tomorrow, and once again, we'll be facing a pitcher who has dominated us.

We have two options -- move Votto to the two spot, or have our only two lefties hit back-to-back. I'm not a fan of either option, but you definitely can't bat Votto second, and as you said the late inning match-up problem is huge. So what do we do? The cleanup spot is killing us, regardless who we put there. Phillips and Rolen have to heat up -- or at least one of them. They are the two biggest holes in our offense right now.
