Unintentionally hilarious piece from Yankee homer writer

This guy says Andy Pettitte's value is "immeasurable" and also urges his readers to go back to a safer time when W-L record was the ultimate measuring stick for pitchers.

It's going to be funny to read what he writes after Pettitte is roughed-up a few times. The Reds had terrible approaches at the plate yesterday.

They looked all psyched out like they did vs Halladay in game 1 of the playoffs. It was disappointing that they again didn't show more poise on the big stage. I am hoping they'll get over this

The opponent today, Ivan Nova, is VERY hittable. Hopefully the Reds get something going early.

When don't the Reds hitters have terrible approaches?

How Jacoby still has a job is beyond me.

There are hitters out there who know how to work the good pitchers. The Reds hitters seem to mail it in when they face a good pitcher.

He could have written that article much more quickly.

    - Over the course of a career, wins a pretty good measure of pitcher value
    - Andy Pettitte is a pretty good pitcher over a long career
    - Andy Pettitte has a lot of wins
    - Andy Pettitte is pretty valuable.

Done. Though he did forget to mention that Andy Pettitte was awesome at having good hitters on his team. But I wouldn't want to overcomplicate his world.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
