The Reds don't have a perfect offense but it is getting better at producing runs. They do need to cut down on the strikeouts I'll grant you that but it's doing enough to get the job done most days and they get better as the game goes along. It seems the more times through a lineup the better the Reds perform against teams' bullpens.

I'm glad Bruce got upset with the ump there. He's had that bad inside strike called on him a lot this year.

Even worse, some umps change their strike zones in the same at bat. Hernandez threw four straight pitches to Bruce in the exact same spot -- two were called balls and two were called strikes, but none of them were over the plate.

I really hope Ludwick's yesterday did not knock the hot-hitting Heisey out of the lineup for foreseeable future.

Heisey will be back in the lineup tomorrow I would bet. Ludwick hadn't been in the field for a week so I don't mind him getting the start coming off his good game yesterday. He looks god awful again tonite. He had his once a month game yesterday.

Todd Frazier is doing an adequate job at 3B as Rolen's replacement but he looks awkward anytime he tries to backhand a grounder. I'm hoping Scott will take some time to work on Frazier's fielding.
