Mike Matheny: It would be better if Cards didn't draft my son
Interesting read from the St. Louis paper. Following the recent history of other sons of Cardinals staff being drafted, Mike Matheny suggests that he would prefer Cardinals not draft his son. I know we discussed possible nepotism when the Reds draft Sean Buckley, although others quickly noted that Sean was a legitimate prospect. Noting that isn't to question young Matheny's credentials, but just as another comparison. Mike Matheny looks closely at what Chris Duncan went through and says "no thanks."

I think it's a good call by Matheny.
